THE PARK ACROSS THE
STREET

Top photo: One of the real pluses about the clinic is its location across from a major park. The park has numerous buildings which have concerts in them several times a week (free), some boutiques, galleries, a reading room with newspapers and magazines, and much more. It is a highly organized and well-developed public facility. The outdoor café and restaurant (the building on the right) was closed for the winter. The concert hall is barely visible through the trees in the center of the photo. Middle photo: Not being able to take a picture of the whole park, I took a picture of the map, instead. The building in the upper left corner is the café, The Hufeland Klinik is just across the street, right where there is a bend in the road. The building to the right of the café is a hotel, with a nice restaurant and also availability of massage and baths. The big building in the upper right is the public bath facility, for soaking in the healing waters which have a high potassium content. The long narrow building below the hotel is the concert hall and associated facilities. There is even a Japanese Garden. |

Bottom photo: Here is a picture of the park with the café on the left. Straight above the white park bench in the middle of the photo is the wing of Hufeland Klinik that has Ruth's room. Her's are the top row of windows, just under the tree branch. The large building to the right is another clinic. In Germany, people return for treatments ever six months.
Initially, that was our intent, but we never followed through. If we had,
perhaps the outcome would have been different. Hindsight is filled with
such "what if" imaginings. |
